Welcome to the 2011-2012 Naples High School Golden Eagle Band Program. Congratulations on your decision to be a part of this organization. This year, the Golden Eagles will give everyone a chance to reach their highest possible level of performance. Members of the NHS Band develop musically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and physically during their time in the program. Objectives include character-building, commitment, cooperation, dependability, determination, discipline, leadership, punctuality, respect, responsibility, and self-control. The fall season will emphasize the Marching Band with performances at football games, parades and marching competitions, including the Lightning Tournament of Bands, The Marching Band Invitational, Southwest Florida Band Show and the Florida Bandmasters Music Performance Assessment. This year we will feature two Concert Organizations: Symphonic and Concert Band. Each will be involved in public concerts as well as performances at the District and State Level of the FBA Music Performance Assessment festival. In addition to ensembles, each member of the Golden Eagles Band will have an opportunity to participate in All-State, All-County, FBA Solo and Ensemble Festival, and other community activities. We are aslo making plans to form winter ensembles which will participate in performances in both flag ensemble and dance at FBA assessments and other competitive arenas. Hard-working students, dedicated staff members, involved and active parents, a supportive administration and community must combine to make a successful music program. Our students are expected to set and reach high goals for themselves and their program. The rewards of meeting these expectations are immeasurable in the development of our students as well-rounded human beings. Members of this year's Golden Eagle Band Program will develop musically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and physically during their time in the program. Let's have a great band year in 2011 - 2012.
